$10,000 scholarships to two students
The Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation announced today the recipients of scholarships for two area high school seniors: Drew Bindl of Edgewood High School and Addison Sloan of Middleton High School.
Since 2019, the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation has committed to funding scholarships for local high school students. Each year, two deserving local high school seniors who meet certain criteria and live in the Wisconsin counties of Dane or Rock are awarded scholarships to help reach their educational goals. This year’s recipients will each receive a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500 per year up to a total of four years).

Drew Bindl is a graduate of Edgewood High School and will attend UW-Madison in the fall, majoring in actuarial science. During his time at Edgewood, he was on the Math Team and Science Olympiad. At Edgewood, he was a four-year varsity golfer and team captain. His love for golf has translated into community involvement through serving as a First Tee youth mentor, assisting with the First Tee Girls Golf Day, and volunteering at the American Family Insurance Championship.
Addison Sloan will graduate from Middleton High School on June 6. Addison has been a member of the golf team all four years. She will attend UW-Madison this fall, majoring in Genetics and Genomics. As part of her studies, she will be working in a lab as a part of Professor Deric Wheeler’s research team studying head and neck cancer. In addition to school, work and golf, Addison is an active member of her community, doing various volunteer work.
