Tournament extends agreement with PGA TOUR Champions and renews UW-Madison partnership; returns to University Ridge Golf Course in 2027
MADISON, Wis., Aug. 26, 2026 — The American Family Insurance Championship will remain in Madison through 2030, continuing its significant charitable and economic impact in the community. American Family Insurance, the tournament’s title sponsor, and PGA TOUR Champions have agreed to terms that secure the championship’s future in Madison.
As part of the agreement, the tournament will return in 2027 to University Ridge Golf Course, where it debuted in 2016. Competition is scheduled for June 11-13. The AmFam Championship’s popular team format – featuring the only scramble format on PGA TOUR Champions – will also continue.
“We’re proud to extend our partnership with the PGA TOUR Champions and ensure this annual event remains an important part of the Madison community,” said American Family Insurance Chair and CEO Bill Westrate. “Our long-standing strategic partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison reflects a shared commitment to this community, and returning to University Ridge adds another meaningful chapter to our shared history.”
“The American Family Insurance Championship has been one of the premier events on PGA TOUR Champions since day one, and has continued to deliver a best-in-class experience for our players and fans,” said PGA TOUR Champions President Miller Brady. “The combination of a hometown partner in American Family Insurance and a true icon of our game in Steve Stricker helped to set the foundation for success over the last 10 years, and we are excited to work with the team to continue those efforts through 2030.”
“We appreciate the TPC Wisconsin staff and agronomy team for their time and dedication in preparing a host venue the last two years,” said Tournament Director Nate Pokrass. “With the generous support of fans, sponsors and volunteers, the Championship has continued to grow as an award-winning PGA TOUR Champions event. We look forward to returning to University Ridge, the tournament’s original home, and building on that momentum for years to come.”
“We thank American Family, the PGA TOUR Champions, the players, sponsors, volunteers and fans who made these two years so memorable,” said TPC Wisconsin owner Dennis Tiziani. “We look forward to continuing to support the Championship and the extraordinary charitable work that has always been at the heart of the event.”
PGA TOUR winner and Madison resident Steve Stricker, who partnered with American Family Insurance to bring PGA TOUR competition back to Wisconsin, will continue as player-host.
“Hosting this tournament has been one of the great honors of my career,” said Stricker, the 2023 AmFam Championship winner. “I want to thank the staff and members of TPC Wisconsin for everything they’ve done for the Championship over the past two years. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue hosting the PGA TOUR Champions in Madison, and most importantly, seeing the tremendous charitable impact this tournament has had throughout our communities.”
Tournament proceeds will continue to benefit the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation, which has provided nearly $22 million in charitable contributions and over $125 million in local economic impact, since 2016. Results and impact from the 2026 Championship will be announced later this year.
The 2027 American Family Insurance Championship will take place at University Ridge Golf Course the week of June 7-13, with three days of tournament competition, June 11-13.
