Annual event in June will take place for the first time at TPC Wisconsin and feature a new team format.
All seven former champions of the American Family Insurance Championship have committed to play in the 2025 PGA TOUR Champions event this June. This includes 2024 defending champion Ernie Els, host Steve Stricker (2023), Thongchai Jaidee (2022), two-time champion Jerry Kelly (2019, 2021), Scott McCarron (2018), Fred Couples (2017) and Kirk Triplett (2016).
The 2025 tournament, to be held June 6-8, introduces two significant changes which will enhance both the player and fan experiences.
First, the tournament moves to a new host golf course – TPC Wisconsin – on Madison’s north side. The course was co-designed by Wisconsin native and tournament host, Steve Stricker.
Second, the AmFam Champ will debut a new format exclusive to the PGA TOUR Champions. A field of 76 players, organized into 38 teams of two, will participate in a 54-hole competition featuring best ball and scramble scoring formats promising new energy and low scores.
Previous AmFam Champ winners and their competition partners:
2016: Kirk Triplett / Paul Broadhurst
2017: Fred Couples / Jay Haas
2018: Scott McCarron / Ken Tanigawa
2019 and 2021: Jerry Kelly / Justin Leonard
2022: Thongchai Jaidee / Brendan Jones
2023: Steve Stricker / Mario Tiziani
2024: Ernie Els / Tim Herron

He won the AmFam Champ in 2023 and was the 2023 PGA TOUR Champions player of the year with seven wins. Kelly, a two-time AmFam Champ winner (2019 and 2021), has 12 PGA TOUR Champions victories, including three in 2022, and three PGA TOUR wins.

McCarron, the 2018 champion, has 11 PGA TOUR Champions wins, including three in 2019. Couples, the 2017 champion, has won 15 times on the PGA TOUR and 14 times on the PGA TOUR Champions.
