Overview
Tournament beyond trophies
The American Family Insurance Championship was created in 2016 by American Family Insurance, PGA TOUR Champions and PGA TOUR player and Wisconsin native Steve Stricker. Since its inception, the championship and associated events have raised over $17 million for the American Family Children’s Hospital and other charities.
The TOUR
Part of PGA TOUR Champions – a men’s professional senior golf tour, administered as a branch of the PGA TOUR.
The Foundation
Proceeds benefit the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation which supports hundreds of organizations and the American Family Children’s Hospital.

The AmFam Champ brings together 78 of the top PGA TOUR Champions players. The star-studded field of U.S. and international golf legends includes major champions, Hall-of-Famers, and past champions. The final field is set a week before the tournament.

Experience Every Moment
The tee times and pairings for the following day are posted each night after the conclusion of play. Players start on either the first or tenth tee.
Course
University Ridge Golf Course
The 2024 American Family Insurance Championship will be held at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, WI. It is a public golf course and the official home course to the University of Wisconsin men’s and women’s golf teams. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the course which opened in 1991.

The American Family Insurance Championship – also known as the AmFam Champ – is a premier annual PGA TOUR Champions tournament and community celebration in Madison, Wisconsin. The tournament has crowned some legendary champions including Madison’s own player/tournament host Steve Stricker.

Steve Stricker wins the 2023 American Family Insurance Championship with a score of -18 under par and total score of 198. Steven Alker and Paul Broadhurst tied for second place with -13 under par.

Thongchai Jaidee wins the 2023 tournament with a -14 and total score of 202. Tom Pernice Jr placed second (-13) and Jerry Kelly, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Kirk Triplett tied for third (-12).

Jerry Kelly wins the AmFam Champ in a sudden death playoff shooting a -15 and total score of 202 over Steve Stricker and Retief Goosen who tied for second place.
2018 Highlights
Scott McCarron won the 2018 AmFam Champ shooting -15 under par with a total score of 201. Jerry Kelly placed second at -14 under par.
2017 Highlights
Fred Couples shot a -15 under par and total score of 201. Scott Verplank (-13) placed second and Steve Stricker (-12) and Scott Verplank (-12) tied for third place.
2016 Highlights
Kirk Triplett won the inaugural AmFam Champ with a remarkable -17 under par and total score of 199. Bart Bryant (-15) and Mike Goodes (-15) tied for second place.
