The PGA TOUR Champions named the American Family Insurance Championship recipient of the Best Title Sponsor Integration Award, which acknowledges dedication and commitment from tournament teams and title partners to integrate key corporate, community and charity priorities into and around tournament week.
The Award was presented at the TOUR’s annual tournament meetings in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
A popular professional sporting event in Wisconsin attended by thousands of fans from 41states and supported by nearly 1,000 volunteers, the AmFam Champ has raised $19.7 million for charitable organizations via 1,010 grants since its inaugural event in 2016. In November, the tournament announced a record amount of proceeds – $2.5 million – raised for charity for the second year in a row. Overall economic impact is estimated at more than $115 million.
“We’re grateful to the PGA TOUR Champions and proud to be the recipient of the Best Title Sponsor Integration Award this year,” said Nate Pokrass, tournament director. “Our team’s goal has always been to support charitable organizations in our communities while providing a great golf experience for fans. American Family Insurance shares those values and this award affirms we’re collectively achieving our goals.”
The AmFam Champ is proud to support the American Family Children’s Hospital and other local organizations through the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation.
“As the tournament sponsor, American Family appreciates the support the AmFam Champ receives from players, fans, sponsors, volunteers and the entire community,” said Bill Westrate, American Family chair and CEO. “They’ve all helped make this tournament a premier golf event while providing critical funding to the American Family Children’s Hospital and so many other nonprofit organizations. We’re proud to sponsor this event and thank the PGA TOUR Champions for this recognition.”
The Best Title Sponsor Integration Award winner excels in the following areas: charitable giving; community engagement; title sponsor engagement; and business integration.
