Two $10,000 scholarships will be provided to students in Dane or Rock counties from PGA TOUR Champions American Family Insurance Championship proceeds.
The application portal for the annual Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation scholarship program is now open. Two $10,000 scholarships ($2,500 per year up to a total of four years) will be awarded to deserving local high school seniors who meet certain criteria and live in the Wisconsin counties of Dane or Rock. The application period will close on March 3 at Noon central.
This is year six of the scholarship program, which was introduced in 2019, and is made possible with the proceeds from the PGA TOUR Champions American Family Insurance Championship. Twelve high school seniors have been beneficiaries of these scholarships and two more will be added to that list this year.
This year’s championship raised a record $2.5 million, contributing to a total of more than $19.7 million distributed by way of 1,010 charitable grants since the inaugural tournament in 2016.
“We’re proud to see the list of students we’re supporting through our scholarship program as they pursue their educational dreams keep growing,” said Nate Pokrass, executive director of the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation and American Family Insurance Championship tournament director. “The primary mission of our foundation is to inspire and develop strong families and healthy kids so they can pursue their dreams.
