VIDEO: More than Golf: Titus’s Story

Since 2016, the American Family Insurance Championship has raised more than $17 million for American Family Children’s Hospital and many non-profits. With half of the tournament proceeds benefitting the American Family Children’s Hospital, over $8 million has gone to support staff, programs, and families at the hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Five-year-old Titus and his family have experienced that world-class care first-hand. At birth, Titus appeared to a healthy newborn, weighing nearly 8½ pounds. It would not be long, however, before Titus’s parents — Nicole and Eric — discovered that their newborn third child would be struggling for survival with every breath. Testing revealed that Titus was laboring to take in each breath. Ultimately, Titus’s troubles were attributed to a jaw deformity. At only a couple months old, he was diagnosed with Pierre Robin Syndrome.

Eight surgeries later, Titus hasn’t let it hold him back. He is a feisty and confident five-year-old, who loves playing with his two older siblings, Tenley and Tucker. Mom and dad keep a close eye on them and can’t say enough about all the doctors, nurses and staff involved in Titus’s care at American Family Children’s Hospital.
